We are sad to say ‘goodbye’ to our longtime volunteers, Rod and Kay Grimme. Between the two of them, they have been volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and ReStores nationwide for almost 25 years! Both began volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in Ponca City, Oklahoma. There Rod helped with 6 new home builds and Kay served through the local ReStore. After moving to the area, the two immediately became involved with Habitat for Humanity of Summit and Wasatch Counties.
Over the years, Rod has helped with numerous repair projects and home builds, and volunteered regularly at our recent home build in Heber. His support was indispensable, and he was able to celebrate the completion of the project at the home’s dedication ceremony in December.
When the ReStore opened in 2013, Rod and Kay were part of the original team that helped turn it into the success it is today. Among the many talents Kay has contributed while at ReStore, was her expert organization, stocking, and merchandising of our large blinds which built a very lucrative program for the store.
Rod and Kay are moving to be near their darling grandchildren, and we will miss them dearly. We wish them the very best in their new endeavor. Their contribution to our success will not be forgotten, and we know they will make an incredible impact in their new community!
