Winter brings additional challenges for people experiencing housing insecurity or living in homes with poor insulation or without adequate heating. Cold drafts and frozen pipes mean higher utility bills and expensive repairs, along with an increased risk of respiratory infections and other illnesses.
Winter donations to Habitat for Humanity help keep working members of our community safe and warm as temperatures drop. Your contributions enable our important work in Summit and Wasatch counties. From helping people find stable housing to selling them affordable building materials and warm winter coats at the Park City ReStore, Habitat is here to help. And your donations make it happen.
Read on to learn how you can take part in Utah’s largest community day of giving this November and why your donations make a long-term difference in the lives of working people in our community.
Why Make Winter Donations to Habitat?
Habitat for Humanity not only builds homes, we build hope. Your donations go toward creating decent homes for health professionals, educators, small business owners, entrepreneurs, and other people who live and work within the Wasatch Back.
Affordable housing gives people a safe and stable place to live. By freeing up money previously spent on housing, it helps people invest in their family’s health and education. And that leads to more positive outcomes for homeowners and their children, all while building stronger communities and supporting small local businesses.
Winter donations in the form of financial contributions are just one way to support Habitat for Humanity. Donate your time as a volunteer, joining a committee, working at the ReStore, or staffing one of our fundraising events. You can also give a used vehicle through our Cars for Homes car donation program. We accept cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, motorcycles, boats, and snowmobiles, along with farm and construction equipment, whether the vehicles are currently running or not—proceeds from the sale of your vehicle support Habitat’s homebuilding and repair programs.
These are only some of the ways you can support Habitat’s efforts. You’ll find other ways to give, get involved with us, and make donations on our website.
Get Involved with Live PC Give PC
Support Habitat for Humanity and other nonprofit organizations that serve Summit County at the annual community fundraising event Live PC Give PC, happening this year on Friday, November 15. This 24-hour day of online community giving, organized by the Park City Community Foundation, is a great way to give back to your favorite local nonprofits.
In 2023, thanks to donations from more than 7,100 people, more than $4.8 million was raised in one day for nonprofits that enhance our community. This year, contribute to Habitat for Humanity during Live PC Give PC and help us meet our $30,000 goal!
Visit our fundraising page on the Live PC Give PC website to learn about our homeowners and our current project in Silver Creek Village. We have finished construction of 14 townhomes and two single-family houses in the development, and we have ten new townhomes scheduled to begin this winter, for a total of 26 homes!
Put your winter donations where they’ll have the most impact this holiday season, and support Habitat during Live PC Give PC!
