On the festive evening of June 27 at the Grand Summit Hotel, more than 190 community members, sponsors, and supporters gathered to celebrate a milestone achievement: 30 years of Habitat for Humanity of Summit and Wasatch Counties. The 2025 Overall Ball served as a tribute to three decades of providing affordable housing and financial literacy programs across the Wasatch Back.
The best news, however, is the record-breaking success of the event, which raised nearly $300,000 to support the mission.
With the stunning Wasatch Mountains as a backdrop and the energy of the supporting community in the air, the evening showcased what can be accomplished when people come together for a cause.
“We are at a critical moment in our communities and in our nation as it relates to housing attainability and affordability,” says Michael Plowman, Habitat for Humanity Summit & Wasatch Counties Director of Development. “We are committed to doing our part to help address this issue.”
A standout moment of the gala was a heartfelt on-stage Q&A with one of Habitat SWC’s newest homeowners, joined by Shellie Barrus, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Summit and Wasatch Counties, and a board member. Their story brought to life the very reason for the evening: providing hardworking families with the opportunity to own their own homes in the communities where they live and work.
The event’s Fund the Mission paddle raise also made history, bringing in nearly $80,000—an incredible amount that will be directly invested into the future of homeownership for local families. These funds will go toward the completion of the final ten homes in the Silver Creek Village subdivision.

The event also recognized long-time partners, Vail Resorts’ EpicPromise and the Park City Board of Realtors, with Golden Hammer Awards.
Additional generous support came from organizations such as Park City MLS, Park City Board of Realtors Philanthropic Foundation, the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation, Charles Schwab, America First Credit Union, Law-Elevated, Walker and Dunlop, Canyons Village Management Association, Deer Valley, Park City Home Builders Association, and LTA Builders—all of whom helped make this year’s ball the most successful yet.
“We would not be able to do the work we do in our community without the generous support of our corporate and individual donors,” Plowman continues.
Building Hope and Homes
As Habitat for Humanity SWC looks to the future, the Overall Ball serves as both a celebration and a call to action. With housing affordability remaining one of the region’s most urgent challenges, the success of the 2025 event highlights the incredible impact of collective community support. It underscores the ongoing importance of Habitat SWC’s mission to build a stronger, more equitable future for all.
With heartfelt thanks to every donor, volunteer, and sponsor, Habitat for Humanity of Summit and Wasatch Counties looks forward to continuing its legacy of building homes, community, and hope.
