What We Built Together in 2025: Year in Review

From all of us at Habitat For Humanity of Summit & Wasatch County we want to say: Thank you! With your generous support, we have had an impactful year of bringing homes and hope to the Wasatch Back. The power of community is evident in the new homeowners, the number of volunteer hours logged by community members helping neighbors, and the memorable events that brought us together to raise awareness and funds for housing affordability.

Here’s a look back at what we accomplished together in 2025.

Habitat For Humanity of Summit & Wasatch County 2025 Recap by the Numbers

In 2025, 19 families received keys to their new Habitat home and are enjoying more than a place of their own. By partnering with Habitat, they’ve unlocked the foundation for financial stability, security, improved health outcomes, and the ability to build a better life for themselves and their loved ones. A Habitat for Humanity home represents hope, perseverance, and the hard work put in by homeowners and volunteers to make this dream a reality.

This year, 220 dedicated volunteers helped to build homes, keeping the Park City ReStore thriving, and put on memorable fundraisers throughout the year, logging a total of 2,530 volunteer hours. From seasoned volunteers to first-timers, each person brought unique skills to a shared commitment to promote affordable housing in our community.

At ReStore, these volunteers helped the staff process 2,500 drop-offs and 700 pick-ups – hard work that helped fund three home builds while giving new life to gently used furniture, appliances, and building materials.

No Habitat For Humanity of Summit & Wasatch County 2025 recap would be complete without mentioning another big number for us this year: 30! We celebrated our 30th year bringing awareness and change to housing affordability with a number of fun events and fundraisers.

Memorable Events in 2025

Last June, more than 200 community members, supporters, and sponsors gathered for our annual Overall Ball. The gala was a record-breaking success, raising more than $300,000 to support Habitat’s mission. Among the evening’s special guests was one of our newest homeowners, who joined Shellie Barrus, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Summit and Wasatch Counties, and a board member for a powerful Q&A on their experiences with Habitat.

Later in 2025, the holiday tree show kicked off the season in style, with two events at the stunning Pendry Park City. On Friday, November 21, we hosted the Celebrating Home Event and Auction, where attendees could bid on and bring home a stunning tree already decorated for the holidays. The next day’s Community Celebration brought locals of all ages to enjoy the trees – and included a visit from Santa for the young and young at heart.

Looking Ahead to 2026

With our 30th year coming to an end, we enter this new year with renewed energy and purpose. We’ve shown what’s possible when a community comes together. But there is more work to be done, and there are many more families eager to build their future. To make that happen, we need your help. Please consider making a donation to continue the work of transforming lives and communities in the Wasatch Back. Here’s to what we’ll build together in 2026.
